The stands looked about half-full, which would be around 125,000 people in the stands. Add in those in the infield, and I'm pretty sure Indy did okay for themselves regardless.

Personally, though, I think the ticket prices need to go down some at some of these tracks.   Martinsville's done a great job keeping racing reasonable for fans, while others haven't really gone with that trend.   Those tracks are the ones hurting most, in my opinion.
